Dan MacCombie, co-founder & co-CEO at Runa

Dan MacCombie is a co-founder and co-CEO at Runa, a beverage company that processes and sells guayusa – a native Amazonian tea-like drink, brewed for thousands of years by indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon that balances as much caffeine as one cup of coffee with twice the antioxidants of green tea. A graduate of Brown with honors in Marine Biology, Dan was named one of Forbes’ 2013 “30 under 30” and sits on the boards of three non-profits. You can reach him here.

American Nations by Colin Woodard

A fascinating book about how the different cultures and societies arose in different regions of America and how much it explains about the way our country works today.

Into the Wild

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

One of my favorite books that I’m re-reading. So many inspirational lessons about living a fulfilling life, community, exploration, and the wild places of America. Chia Vitality

And, finally, I’ve been reading my friend Janie Hoffman‘s book Chia Vitality – has a lot of lessons about her experience starting a company as well as a ton of interesting facts about a plant that’s just growing in popularity!
